Young Voices of Colorado: Young Voices of Colorado is a well-known outside choir for students up to 12th grade. Different leveled choirs are organized by age. To get involved fill out the audition form! *Tuition Required.
Denver Young Artists Orchestra (DYAO): Denver Young Artists Orchestra is a well-established orchestral organization providing students with outside orchestra ensembles of different levels, volunteer hours, and leadership programs. *Tuition required
Actors Academy for the Performing Arts (AAPA Ensemble): Actors Academy for the Performing Arts (AAPA Ensemble) is a well-trusted theater company for 9-12th grade students. Colorado Springs Youth Symphony Association: Colorado Springs Youth Symphony Association in Colorado Springs has 10 different groups for all levels of players and allows GT students the ability to foster and grow their music ability. Auditions are in May or available throughout the year based on need for instrumentation in groups. * Tuition Required
Downtown Aurora Visual Arts: The Downtown Aurora Visual Arts program is a free program that gives GT students an opportunity to advance their visual art skills while also connecting to others and improving their community. See website for applications and more information.
Performing Arts Academy at Highlands Ranch: The Performing Arts Academy gives students a large number of different classes to take, ranging from singing, dancing, acting and technical theater, allowing GT students to explore their talents and work with others to improve their skill. *Tuition Required
Rocky Ridge Music: This group has several summer camps that allow GT students with a passion in music to develop their skills in different ways. Located in Estes Park with beautiful views creating community and helping students explore their passion. See website for audition information. *Tuition Required
Just Chamber Music: Just Chamber Music (JCM) is an eight-day chamber music festival for aspiring music students (elementary school through pre-college). Students are placed in small ensembles, and receive daily intensive coaching from our faculty and guest artists, participate in performance classes, and the festival concert. This camp will allow GT students to collaborate with like-minded, passionate musicians to create beautiful music and develop their skills. *Tuition Required
Internships with Larimer County Economic and Workforce Development: The Larimer County Economic and Workforce Development works to help both businesses and workers in Larimer County get the labor and work that is needed. The LCEWD is willing to help students match up with businesses that will be glad of their talents in business.
Young Entrepreneur Tournament: The Young Entrepreneur Tournament is a business competition for high school students under the age of 18. Students will create a business plan and present it to a panel of judges for the chance to win over $2,000.
Colorado Student Leadership Institute: COSLI is a month-long residential summer program where students take classes at CU Denver and gain valuable business experience. Students learn all about business and marketing techniques and at the end of their residence, they present a business model they created.

Colorado Department of Education: The Department of Education elaborates on the possibility for GT students to complete classes for college and high school credit. Students can apply to courses during the fall, spring, or summer application dates, depending on the college they wish to learn through.
Career Exploration and Science Exposure Opportunities: CU Anschutz Campus is offering career exploration days for grades K-12, and these opportunities expand all the way up to graduate students. They are most responsive to requests from low-income Aurora and Denver students, however they provide opportunities for everyone. There are also panel, presenter, lab, and volunteer opportunities available.
CareerWise Colorado: Careerwise works to connect students with numerous apprenticeships based on their interests. Apprenticeships help to provide knowledge about specific fields while building useful career-ready skills. Some apprenticeship programs lead to certificates and even free college credit.
Infusion Project: CDLS is a beneficial website that can provide classes for numerous interests. Some classes are geared towards higher-learning individuals, and some are average-paced. Even the average-paced classes are extremely useful for students based in smaller schools that have limited resources and are unable to teach a wide variety of subjects. Gifted students can be in control of their learning by getting to choose classes suited to their interests and career paths. These classes do cost, but many schools may be willing to pay for the student to take them.
CU Boulder High School Program: The CU Boulder Precollegiate High School Program is designed to prepare first-generation participants to successfully complete high school and transition to college. This is part of the Precollegiate Development Program, which works primarily with schools in Adams County but also serves some schools in Boulder County, Weld County and the Denver Public Schools through its middle school, high school and college bridge programs.
Colorado Youth Advisory Council: This group works with the Colorado State Legislature to advocate for the youth of Colorado and to provide valuable youth input in relevant government discussions.
American Legion Auxiliary (Girls): High school students who have completed their junior year are competitively selected and sponsored by American Legion Auxiliary units for this program, where they learn about the political process by electing officials for all levels of state government and actively running a mock government.
American Legion Auxiliary (Boys): American Legion Colorado Boys State is a six-day hands-on experience in the operation of the democratic form of government, the organization of political parties, and the relationship of one to the other in shaping Colorado's government.
YMCA's Youth in Government: Youth in Government is a student-led, model-government program to teach Colorado middle and high school students how governance happens in the legislative, judiciary, and executive branches of state government.
New Era Colorado: New Era is building a youth-driven democracy by organizing and mobilizing communities across Colorado, and that starts with a powerful movement of young people taking action.
Youth Invincibles: This group has national and regional youth advisory boards that work towards youth civic engagement and advocacy.
National History Day: This contest allows you to dive into history and analyze significant historical events that interest you. This contest has an exhibit board, performance, essay, and documentary presentation platforms.
ACF Visionary Scholarship: The ACF Scholarship is designed to encourage higher-level education for students across America. The application process is a bit tedious for this scholarship specifically but focuses on the applicant's personality and who they are as a complete person. Multiple awards will be given ranging from $1,000 - $5,000 dollars.
G2 Overachievers Fund: This scholarship is sponsored by Pentel and focuses on change creation. The scholarship focuses on a 2,500-word long essay about how you or another person created change in your community. This scholarship will give $15,000
Summer Science Program: SSP is an internship providing hands-on experience in a scientific field. This is an intense experience open only for juniors and exceptional sophomores, with financial aid opportunities available.
EERE Student Volunteer Internship Program: The EERE Student Volunteer Internship Program is a year-round competitive program for high school or university students at the Department of Energy. Applications are ongoing but applicants must be U.S. citizens with time to invest in the program.
MIT RSI: At MIT's Research Science Institute, high school seniors (and a few juniors) work under MIT's professional research staff on projects in the fields of medicine, computer science, and engineering that may interest them. They have to opportunity to develop their original research project and present it at any future competitions or conferences.
Stanford Institute of Medicine Summer Research Program: Students work on medical research under the guidance of Stanford medical personnel. They have to opportunity to explore a variety of topics they may be interested in, including research on stem cells, regenerative medicine, and pharmaceutical sciences. At each stage, they will learn to design scientific projects, execute procedures, and operate laboratory equipment.
Bridge House: Bridge House is a volunteer organization that helps the homeless in Boulder. Volunteer opportunities include: community table dinners, donation drives, and fundraising. Most volunteer opportunities are available Monday through Friday, with occasional events on weekends.
Cultivate: Volunteers are needed to help senior citizens in Weld, Boulder, and the Broomfield area and ensure that they stay connected within their community. Activities include Carry Out Caravan (providing weekly grocery deliveries), SnowBusters (helping shovel snow), Fix-It (performing simple repairs), etc.
Volunteers for Outdoors Colorado (VOC): Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado (VOC) is a statewide, nonprofit volunteer organization whose mission is to motivate and enable people to be active stewards of Colorado’s natural resources. VOC provides hands-on volunteer opportunities for people of all ages to help care for outdoor places and resources. Opportunities to get involved range from wildfire and flood restoration, to trail construction and restoration, to planting trees in urban parks between April and October. Opportunities are available in Boulder and the Front Range.
Athena Project: The Athena Project celebrates women in the arts through summer programs for playwriting, fashion design, improv, and standup comedy. This is available up until 10th grade. They hold many other events which aim to empower female artists
Teach a Girl to Lead: Rutgers University has a Teach a Girl to Lead program which gathers leadership opportunities for young women. They have five in CO.
IGNITE International: IGNITE is a great resource for women interested in politics. They have middle school, high school, and college-level work. They help young women build a network and feature several leadership programs.
