In December of 2025 our board presented at the Colorado Association of School Board at the December conference. We presented about how legislation shapes gifted education and education our listeners about how they can adocate for gifted learners at the state level. 

Many of our members took to the State Capitol this year to testify on non-partisan legislation that would help GT students across the state. The bills we testified in support of were SB26-019, SB26-023, and HB26-1006. All three of those bills passed. 

In 2026, several of our members attended the Colorado Association of Gifted and Talented's Legislative Day at the Capitol. Members spent the day shadowing a Colorado legislator on the House or Senate floor, attending committee meetings, and having lunch with legislators or their aides. This unique opportunity allowed for members to advocate for solutions to issues facing our community and see the legislative process firsthand.
