Sunshine is a proud resident of Steamboat Springs, Colorado, and is constantly motivated to advocate and excel students in gifted education. She wants to bring together everyone to give gifted students the chance to speak for themselves. Sunshine loves to coach mountain biking and alpine skiing as well as ski race. She is in multiple clubs- writing for her school newspaper, and her local newspaper, FBLA, her schools “Sailor Senate”, and Steamboat Springs High School Hope Squad, focusing on peer to peer suicide pervention. Sunshine believes that through educating others and striving to understand everyone's needs, anyone can make a change, especially gifted students. She seeks to create an open space, so students can speak up and advocate for what they need.

As a consistent delegate of Model United Nations, a youth coach for Ultimate Frisbee, a Science Fair competitor, and a committed steward for Boulder’s Open Space and Mountain Parks, Wensen uses transparent communication and creativity to support and maintain the importance of a unified GT system. He highlights that any system is not truly beneficial if it does not recognize the aptitude of all students and actively seeks to support them.
